Jaguar is at it again only this time making news headlines with the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace. The brand hopes lightning can strike twice having already had success with the Jaguar F-Pace crossover. The F-Pace already has a coveted title of ‘World Car of the Year’ thanks to its boatload of latest technologies, mind-blowing performance, and a host of bespoke materials that make comfort and luxury a priority.
The 2018 Jaguar E-Pace is a 5-seat compact crossover SUV that packs performance and design of a Jaguar’s sports car into a well-connected and pragmatic all-wheel drive vehicle. In its class, the E-Class takes the title as one of the most intelligent and connected vehicle. For example, passengers are connected via the next-gen touchscreen infotainment system that makes it possible for passengers to connect to their favorite applications such as Spotify.
Exterior design elements derive inspiration from the F-Type sports car and feature powerful haunches, short overhangs, muscular proportions, and distinctive Jaguar grille design. 21” alloy wheels are available for those who’d want to spend a bit more. These give the 2018 E-Pace a purposeful and bold appearance that convey a sense of dynamic agility. Even with so numerous changes, the E-Pace still retains Jaguar’s core DNA elements such as the distinctive side window graphic and the fast sweep of the roofline.
Getting into the new Jaguar E-Pace interior, one quickly notices the exceptional acres of space. The 2018 model is now 4,395mm in length, the short front overhangs are 882mm and short rear overhangs are 832mm. And the wheelbase impresses at 2,681mm. The generous wheelbase makes it possible for the model to offer its passengers a voluptuous head- and legroom.
On offer in the US are two engine options. The standard model is set to come with a 2L four-cylinder engine capable of producing 246 horsepower. The Jaguar E-Pace R-Dynamic, which comes with distinctive design cues such as sporty seats, a gloss black trim, and a more aggressive front bumper – also packs the same engine under its hood but raises the output to 296 horsepower. Regardless of the trim opted for, all trims come mated with an all-wheel drive and a nine-speed transmission system.
According to Jaguar, the 2018 E-Pace should be able to get from 0-60 mph in just 5.9 seconds before getting to the top speed of 151mph which is electronically limited.
Jaguar has offered plenty of configurable dynamics to E-Pace drivers that include settings for steering, automatic transmission, throttle, and Adaptive Dynamics suspension system. The Adaptive Dynamics, for instance, improves agility and roll control in all directions through set-ups that sense input, wheel, and body movements and goes on to pre-emptively load the chassis and suspension settings.
2018 Jaguar E-Pace Colors
Three color options are available for the latest model. There’s Yulong White, Santorini Black, and Caldera Red – unique for the 1st Edition model for the first year. The exterior look complements this fine choice through features such as diamond-turned 20” Satin Grey, split-spoke alloy wheels, and gloss black detailing. Furthermore, each Jaguar E-Pace can be specified in a whopping eleven colors.
