Exterior wise, the new SUV features an updated grille, a new front bumper, and Matrix Pixel LED headlights. And so you know, the new P400e has replaced the previous SDV6 Hybrid Diesel model.
For the U.S market, buyers should expect a 3.0L supercharged V6, 3.0L turbocharged V6 diesel, and 5.0L supercharged V8 engine. Here, power ranges from 254 hp to 575 horsepower. It is however worthwhile noting that the top-of-the-range Range Rover Sport SVR gets improved output figures than before.
The SVR version is now capable of generating 575 horsepower – a 25 horsepower boost from before. According to Land Rover, it should now be able to zoom from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds.
But the big news is the introduction of the company’s first plug-In electric model. With an output rated at a whopping 398 hp and 472 lbs. ft. of torque, the model is able to achieve a range of 31 mile driving range. The automaker claims it can zoom from naught to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and go on to top the speed at the 137 mph mark.
2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Release Date & Price
According to Land Rover, the new Range Rover Sport plug-In shouldn’t be expected to arrive in the U.S until in the summer of 2018. Pricing details are still nebular at this point.
The regular Range Rover Sport on the other hand should be expected to be available in dealerships by early next year. As for the pricing, the 254-hp rated turbocharged 3.0L V6 diesel engine should go for sale for an MSRP starting from $69,745. The Range Rover HSE Dynamic trim with an output of 380 horsepower should go for sale for an MSRP starting from $83,145.
For better performance, buyers can opt for the 518-hp 5.0L supercharged V8 gasoline engine that goes for sale for $83,045. Lastly, at the top of the food chain is the $114,595 priced SVR version that generates 575 horsepower.
